Neil visited York as Chair of the Environment Select Committee to learn about local flood management schemes.
Neil was joined by Committee specialists to assess the 'Slow the Flow' project in Pickering. They also discussed flooding in York over the winter 2-15/16 and how the Environment Agency can help manage future flood events in the city centre.
"It was a really informative trip. York has suffered badly in recent years from some terrible floods. The Government and the Environment Agency must be taking steps now to ensure at-risk areas are well-prepared for future heavy rain and flood events.
