At Welsh questions this week, Neil took the oppurtunity to make the case for the Swansea Bay tidal lagoon.
Neil fully supports the Swansea Bay tidal lagoon project because of its unique and long-term benefits to the UK energy mix, as well as the potential for the tidal lagoon to produce sustainable and clean energy at lower costs.
Neil said: "The Bristol channel has the second highest tidal rise and fall in the world. We need to harness that power and we can pay for it over a longer period because it will create power for hundreds of years to come".
The Minister's response was that: "Tidal lagoons have the potential to make a significant contribution to the UK energy mix, and exciting projects in Wales such as the Swansea bay lagoon deserve serious consideration".
