Neil has spoken in Parliament about the importance of British meat and dairy products.
Neil argued that it is too simplistic to stop eating meat and dairy in the hope of delivering environmental benefits, given that a huge amount of UK grassland relies entirely on meat and milk production. He argues instead that there are manageable ways to cut methane out of meat and dairy production.
Neil also urged caution in relation to importing protein substitutes which damage the environment, such as soya beans that are grown on deforested land.
