Neil led a Westminster Hall debate in the House of Commons this week to discuss the rollout of broadband in Devon & Somerset.
MPs from across Devon and Somerset spoke in the debate about the importance of broadband connections for their constituents and were able to put on record their concerns about the government rollout, through Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS). Neil has been particularly disappointed that Tiverton and Honiton constituency is one of the worst in England for superfast broadband connections, ranking in the bottom 10. In the debate, Neil complained about delays to broadband over the last 8 years through CDS and warned the Minister that delays cannot go on.
The Minister apologised for the failures over the years and has said there will be much greater transparency in the future, including better communication with MPs and constituents. Neil has vowed to hold the Government to account and warned that his fiery dusting up of the Government will be twice as bad if he has to call another debate on the matter.
