Neil pressed Ministers in the new Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on their support for Tidal Lagoons to provide Britain's energy.
Neil Parish: The Swansea bay tidal lagoon, along with Cardiff bay, Newport bay and Bridgwater bay, has the potential to create huge energy, as those bays have the second highest rise and fall of tide in the world. How is the feasibility study going, and when will we get a result? We need long-term funding for a project that will provide 8% of our energy.
Greg Clark (Secretary of State for Energy): My understanding is that the feasibility study is being undertaken. I have not received its final conclusions yet. At that point, I will look at it with the same interest as my hon. Friend.
