Neil welcomed the Chancellor, George Osborne, to the world-famous Axminster Carpets to support Britain remaining a member of the European Union.
The Chancellor toured the factory to see the manufacture of the carpets, which are sold to royal palaces, stately homes and luxury hotels around the world.
The Chancellor said:
“This a really crucial referendum. It's probably the most important moment when we will vote at any time in our lives.”
"I want to make sure that people who don't want to take the economic risk of quitting the EU – who aren't sure about consequences for people's jobs and livelihoods – vote to remain.”
"Here I am at a brilliant, famous company – it employs over 100 people in this town – and the workforce and management are saying very clearly if we quit the EU there is a risk to the future prosperity of this business.”
