MP welcomes defence and nuclear treaties

Neil Parish welcomes the co-operation with France as making military and economic sense. He calls on the Government to ensure that the treaties will open up of the markets in procurement.Neil Parish (Tiverton and Honiton) (Con): I welcome the Secretary of State's statement on better co-operation with France, which makes military and economic sense. Will he look at the fine print on opening our markets in procurement, because my knowledge of the French is that opening up markets is not their greatest strong point?Dr Fox: When my hon. Friend gets a chance to look at the treaty, he will see that we were very keen to ensure that there is a genuine opening up of the defence market. A partnership is a partnership, and it must work in both directions.| Hansard
