Neil spoke at a Parliamentary event, organised by the Conservative Women's Organisation, on increasing maximum sentences for those found guilt of animal cruelty offences.
The current maximum sentence in England is six months - one of the lowest in Europe. Neil is pushing for the maximum to be increased to five years to give judges more flexibility when punishing the worst animal abusers.
"It was a top event with robust debate. I support the CWO in helping engage to women across the country in relevant political issues and encourage them to stand for elected office."
"I will continue to press Ministers for action to increase maximum sentences for animal cruelty."
