Neil spoke at the launch of Natwest's report on helping young people in the farming industry.
The report, Harvesting the Future for Young Farmers, identifies problems which stop young people going into farming, including lack of access to finance and problems diversifying produce.
It also identified key areas in which young farmers could be supported, through new technologies and diversifying into areas such as tourism, leisure and renewable energy.
After the event, Neil said:
"It was a pleasure to speak at the report launch. As someone who was once a young farmer starting from scratch, I know how difficult it can be developing your farm and business. The more we can do to help young farmers and attract more talented people into the agricultural world, the better."
