Neil chaired a Dairy UK breakfast - attended by other MPs and key dairy stakeholders - on boosting dairy exports and the future of the dairy industry post-Brexit. The breakfast was also attended by International Trade Minister Mark Garnier, which spoke about how British dairy can access new markets.
Neil later said:
"As a former dairy farmer, this is a matter very close to my heart. In the Brexit negotiations, we need to get the best possible possible access to EU markets for British dairy goods. Moreover, Brexit could provide the opportunity to boost British exports to new non-EU markets."
"It was great to hear from the Minister, Mark Garnier, and it's good his Department is taking the dairy industry so seriously."
