Neil joined local residents, activists and campaigners for a Climate Coalition event at the Tiverton Hotel to discuss action to tackle Climate Change.
Organised by the charity Tear Fund, Neil was quizzed on a range of topics, from fracking to Hinkley Point and local hydroelectric energy to farmland. They also viewed the electric car point at the hotel for charging electric cars and low emissions vehicles.
"It was a pleasure to attend the Climate Event. As Chair of the Environment Select Committee, the discussions touched on a lot of the issues my committee investigates and holds the Government to account on."
"Since 1990, Britain has reduced its greenhouse emissions by 35%. Over a quarter of our electricity now comes from renewable sources. But we still have a long way to go to get our emissions down and increase low-carbon sources of energy."
"It was great to see such enthusiasm at event for tackling climate change. A big thanks to everyone who attended and to Jack Wakefield for organising."
