Meeting with the Royal College of Nurses

Neil met with Heather and Ann-Marie from the Royal College of Nurses to discuss nursing provision in Tiverton and Honiton. 

There are 68 more nurses in Tiverton and Honiton since 2010 as the healthcare budget grows and demand increases.

Neil visited Kings House Day Hospice in Honiton to discuss hospicecare services in East Devon.

Maddock Farm Organics Visit

Neil visited Maddock Farm Organics in Cullompton, which was recently awarded the Soil Association’s prestigious BOOM (Best of the Organic Market) Award for Best of Fresh Produce.

Anaerobic Digestion Plant

Neil visited Viridor's Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant in Walpole, Somerset.

Since opening in 2013, the plant is successfully processing all household food waste collected for recycling in Somerset. It also has spare capacity for food waste from commercial sources. 

South West Growth Summit

Neil took part in the South West Growth summit - a major forum on how we can grow the economy of the West Country. Neil focused his remarks on getting better broadband and all South West councils working together to make their voice heard by Government.

Rare Breeds Survival Trust

Neil spoke at the Rare Breed's Survival Trust event on how we can save more of the UK's native livestock breeds. 

The event raised plans to collect the DNA of rare species to save them from extinction. You can read more about the even at this link. 

 

Gittisham Retirement Village

Neil visited Gittisham Retirement Village to see how it provides quality homes for older people. 

Honiton Show 2017

Neil attended the Honiton and District Agricultural Show 2017. He was joined by fellow MP, Sir Hugo Swire, to discuss all things food and farming at the NFU tent.
