Neil Parish MP launches report on Religious Slaughter

 Neil Parish, Member of Parliament for Tiverton and Honiton and Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Beef & Lamb has published a report into Meat Slaughtered in Accordance with Religious Rites. The report follows an extensive inquiry in which evidence from a wide range of stakeholders from industry experts, Shechita UK, the Halal Food Authority, veterinary professionals as well as the Farming Minister George Eustice and the European Commission.   

Axe Valley Community College Pupils get tour of Parliament!

On Thursday 17th July, ten ASPIRE students from the Axe Valley Community College embarked on an exciting trip to The Capital.  The ten students had taken part in the ASPIRE Law project run by the college in partnership with Exeter University for year 5 to year 13 ASPIRE students.

Neil Parish MP appointed Ministerial Aide to Transport Minister

Today (22nd July 2014) Neil Parish, Member of Parliament for Tiverton and Honiton, was appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Minister of State for Transport, the Rt Hon John Hayes MP, following the recent reshuffle of the Cabinet. As a PPS Neil Parish will act as a liaison between backbench MPs and the Minister, serve as an important channel of communication and attend meetings in the Department for Transport.

Neil Parish MP joins the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall on their visit to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage HQ

Neil Parish MP joined The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall as they visited River Cottage HQ in East Devon on Tuesday 15th July. The royal couple toured Park Farm – which is a working organic smallholding and also the base for all River Cottage courses and events – in the company of River Cottage founder, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. As well as observing, at close-hand, the workings of the operation, they chatted to staff and members of the River Cottage team.
