Neil pledged to back British Farming at the National Farmers' Union summer reception in Parliament.
He is standing to be re-elected as Chair of the powerful Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee in Parliament. This will give him the opportunity to hold the Government to account on its Brexit policies on agricultural support payments, environmental regulations and tariffs on food and drinks goods.
"This Parliament is going to be the most significant in decades for our agricultural industry. Food and drink contributes over £100bn to the UK economy every year and must be top of the agenda in the Brexit negotiations. I will be fighting tooth and nail, with groups like the NFU, to back British farming and get the best possible deal for our agricultural industries in the coming years."
