Neil spoke at a packed event in Parliament on Monday night to celebrate the work of the British veterinary profession. The event was sponsored by the Animal Welfare Foundation and the British Veterinary Association.
Neil spoke on animal welfare issues and how the government can ensure pets and companion animals are well-treated and looked after. He also raised animal welfare in livestock production and reviewing the Animal Welfare Act 2006 to ensure it is fit for purpose in the age of the internet.
Neil congratulated the AWF and the BVA on their fantastic work in promoting animal welfare issues and helping to ensure everything possible is done to protect animals from mistreatment and abuse.
