Neil Parish MP signs joint letter with a cross-party group of Devon MPs to Cllr Hart and Cllr Hughes at Devon County Council encouraging them to apply for cycle scheme funding:

Dear Cllr Hart and Cllr Hughes,

We are writing to you in the hope that you will submit an expression of interest to the Department for Transport in order to be able to apply for cycle scheme funding.

The benefits from cycling are both mental and physical and Devon also has the potential to be an excellent place for avid cyclists to holiday, which would certainly provide extra revenue for the county.

Rural areas often find it more difficult to deliver the infrastructure necessary to support cycling and submitting this expression of interest would put Devon near the front of the queue for support and perhaps also money.

We would be grateful to know if this is something you are considering.

We look forward to hearing from you.

 Yours sincerely,
