Wednesday 15th September marked Back British Farming Day, a chance for everyone to show their appreciation for the work of British farmers in keeping the nation fed with quality, nutritious food. 

In a full day of events, Neil championed British farmers by: 

• Speaking in a Westminster Hall debate on the importance of Government support for sustainable farming - both environmentally for the planet and economically for farmers (watch here);
• Urging the Prime Minister during PMQs to Back British Farming, and to commit to boosting the number of agri-food specialists we have to help farmers export abroad (watch here); 
• Attending the launch of the National Farmers' Union's new report, 'British Food: Leading the Way'. The launch also welcomed new farmer Jeremy Clarkson as a guest speaker, who highlighted the need to ensure our self-sufficiency as a food producing country does not fall below 60%, and can be boosted to well above that number.
